With this range of puzzles, Hanayama tried to bring back to life the “Cast Metal Puzzle”. To create these puzzles, zinc alloy is melted and cast into a metal mould. They are called “Cast Puzzle” because of the manufacturing process; the casting method.
This puzzle, designed by Edi Nagata of Japan, looks like a box with a hole in it, but is actually made up of two identical pieces that fit together perfectly. You have to try to separate them by rotating the pieces. Although the pieces have an angular shape, they can be rotated in unexpected ways, resulting in surprising movements.
In order to fully experience the “fun” and “agony” of solving these puzzles, the solution is not disclosed. Solve the puzzle on your own and feel the suspense and frustration of the game!
